There was a solid Nor Easter last week which really stirred up the ocean. It was probably one of the strongest storms we've had on the Jersey Shore since Hurricane Sandy. On Monday I walked up to the beach to check the waves and almost got blown off my feet by the wind. The waves were breaking out as far as I could see and were probably in the 15 foot plus range. I knew there was going to be surf the next day but was unsure where to go, stay in New Jersey or make the drive to New York. I ended up meeting up with some friends and staying in New Jersey and just driving south where the wind would be more offshore. We ended up scoring some solid waves that barreled unlike anything I've seen in NJ before. I decided to swim out and take some shots from the water which was a good idea but really difficult to stay in position as the current was ripping from North to South faster than anything I've ever experienced. There's some shots below of what I scored while swimming.
